Rope, Pole, Pole, Rope, Pole

I haven’t updated this for a while so done quite a bit since the last time.

Corde Lisse class last Monday went well. We were looking at double hocks climb and then working on making up a mini routine so that was nice to go back over some older stuff. I struggle to remember it all though so really need to start making notes.

My Tuesday pole classes went well. Three new people and most of my regulars so it was my busiest class yet. Very hot though so was sticking to the pole with legs but had slippy hands again. Got really close to a knee hold.

Went to my friends pole class on Thursday. I’d looked through Wikipole earlier in the day to find some things to try but didn’t write them down so forgot! Must make a list next time!

Rope this Monday was the last of the current block. We went back over 360 drop and had a little go on a set of silks that were up which was fun.

Last nights pole class was good. My new people came back and seem to be enjoying it. Again very hot though so was really sticking to the pole except for my hands which just slid off despite copious amounts of dry hands which normally works pretty well.

Pole class

Last nights pole class went well. Second week in the new venue and I’m really pleased with it so far. My first group did quite well although there were a couple of people in the group with injuries so they were taking it easy. My second group also did well. It was quite hot though and although the poles were nice and sticky for the inverts and holds spins were a bit of a nightmare and we were all suffering from sticky body / slippy hands.

I did a small personal practice although when trying my air invert my slippy hands just slid me right down so that wasn’t very successful and my hands and shoulder were again too slippy to manage a decent shoulder mount so I just practiced a few combinations of crucifix/ thigh hold/ Gemini/ scorpio instead.

Corde Lisse

Rope class on Monday night went well. The class was taking place in a different venue to normal which was a bit of a pain as the other venue is difficult to find but I got there without too much trouble. We were again looking at The Gripper and this time I managed to do it first time and then got it consistently after that so I was pleased. We were also looking at Back Balance which I was less successful with (but it took me ages to get Front Balance so I don’t expect to get Back Balance without a lot of practice) and Loop of Death to Key of Stomach to Mobile which I could do. So overall it was a successful class and I came away feeling like I’d achieved something.

Pole Class

Last night we started in the new venue. We are now in a nice room which is much bigger than the previous place. I had all three poles up with plenty of space and there would definitely be room for a fourth pole as well should I want to add another one in the future.

The first class had 6 people, a mix of three new beginners, two on their second lesson and one who has been coming for a few weeks, so I was kept busy throughout. They all picked everything up well.

The second class just had one person due to illness and holidays. She has been coming for a while now and is learning really quickly. We worked on her Gemini and Scorpio and she managed to get both after having struggled with them last week.

I did a small amount of personal practice, mainly shoulder mount and air inverts.
