Lots of Pole

My pole classes went well last week. One new girl is picking it up really quickly. The second class was quiet. I hope it will be a bit busier tonight as people are back from hols etc.

Pole class on Thurs went ok. I think I need to decide now what I want to put in my competition routine and then specifically work on those things as those are the bits that I will need looking good.

I also went to pole yesterday. I didn’t do so well but all pole time is good as it all adds to strength etc even if I don’t feel that I actually achieved anything!

I have a busy week of pole this week. Going to classes yesterday, Thursday and Sunday and teaching Tuesday and Saturday.

Corde Lisse

Corde lisse class went well last night. We were working on the same sequence as last week so I was mainly looking at the sitting man to walking man, double hocks and front balance to hip lock. I wasn’t entirely successful but made better progress than last week. My double hocks is getting stronger again although it’s still not back to where it was but it should be long now.

Pole and Chinese Pole

I went to pole class on Thursday night. I was lacking a little in energy and motivation but it was a pretty good class. I was working on Star and Caterpillar mainly. The main thing that came out of it was that I have definitely decided to enter Pole Divas. It will give me something to focus on and work towards which I think is what I need.

First Chinese pole class in a while on Friday. It went well, I was feeling quite strong and managed to do everything, albeit some of it needs work still. I even managed to do a Straight Edge briefly which I was pleased about, all my caterpillar practice must be helping, I just need to transfer that across to the normal pole and be able to hold it confidently !!

Rope and Pole

First Corde Lisse class in a few weeks on Monday. It went fairly well. We were working on the B move first of all which I struggled with, but so did most of the others so that was ok! Then we looked at double hocks to front balance. I was a bit annoyed with myself as my double hocks used to be really strong but having not done it for some time it’s gone pretty rubbish. Must try to practice it each week.

My pole classes on Tuesday went well. The 7:15pm class is now full and once some of my students get back from holidays the 8:15 will also be close to being full. Everyone is picking things up nicely and seems to be enjoying it.

Pole Jam

Saturday was a busy pole day for me.
It started off with a small hen party in the morning. That went well and they all seemed to enjoy it.
After that I was off to a pole jam in Bristol. It’s been a while since I last went to a jam so it was a good afternoon. There was cake and sweets and a photographer and lots of poling.
I managed to get my knee hold properly on the normal pole for the first time so I was pleased with that. I was also working on my back hook to invert which I managed to do several times.

Update, pole and course.

Pole classes have been going well. The second class is a bit quiet at the moment as a lot of my students are on holiday or ill. Everyone is doing really well though and picking things up really quickly.

I have been considering taking a Personal Trainer course. It’s something I’ve been considering for some time and Weston College are running one starting in September. Its two nights a week though, Tuesdays and Thursdays which means I would have to move my class to a Wednesday and I would no longer be able to go to pole on a Thursday which I will miss. I had been considering entering Pole Divas this year but if I do the course then I won’t be able to enter the competition as I definitely won’t have enough time to put in enough practice.

Pole

Last Tuesday I got part of the way to my pole class before realising that I had forgotten my shorts! Disaster! So, I had to turn around and go back home to get them which added 20 minutes onto my journey and made me late. Luckily my first class was small (3 people) so I only had to put up two poles which didn’t take long so we were soon up and running. It was the ladies second lesson and they are progressing well. One is a natural and managed to get all the moves quite easily. The other two find it a little more challenging but they were doing well. My second class was also very quiet but it went well and both people did really well.

On Thursday I went to pole class again. I left off of the knee hold as I was still bruised from the last week. I was doing quite a lot of shoulder mounts and I was pleased with them as they were the best they had been for a long time. I was able to hold the super invert quite comfortably. I was also trying meathook but was less successful here! I can do it fairly easily on the Chinese pole so why is it so much harder on an ordinary pole?!
